Mass Meditation:

BY washing their feet, Jesus wanted to teach the disciples that the Son of God came to the earth to serve and fulfill the will of His Father.  As Jesus’ followers, we are to emulate Him, serving one another in lowliness of heart and mind, seeking to build one another up in humility and love.  Part of that humble service is to forgive one another.  When we seek the preeminence, neglect to serve others, or refuse to forgive, we displease the Lord. True greatness in His kingdom is attained by those with a servant’s heart and they will be greatly blessed. ―the Liturgy of the Word

REFLECTION. Jesus wants one to serve the other. This not only includes praying for another and comforting one another.  We are prepared to do without certain things—just for the sake of preserving the peace and unity of God’s people.  All of us, without exception, are and will remain sinners. But God expects us to forgive our neighbor — as often as necessary.

PRAYER. Servant God, who left your throne in heaven to rescue the world and me, help me be a servant too. Jesus, who honored the dishonored by washing feet and showed love by serving your followers, help me bring dignity to the disgraced and show love through my actions.

Quote of the Day:
